Today I present you the last works by some great female classical composers! What's your favorite last piece?

Lili Boulanger was an outstanding young composer. She is by far my favourite female composer. Her premature death in 1918 was a great loss for music. Her sister, Nadia, lived a long life, however, and was a accomplished teacher and conductor.

Incredible shades of music. Musical pictures of each of these beautiful women.
Lily Boulanger. Feelings of sadness. Fanny Mendelssohn. Dance and song of her revealed talent and soul. Clara Schumann. A vision of drama and tragic moments throughout her life. Pauline Viardot. Joy and pride. Life turned out to be successful. I'm amazed.

Thanks for introducing me to new female composers besides Clara Schumann, Lily Boulanger, and Fanny Mendelssohn!

I'm noticed that some people think it is alright to post comments that are discriminatory towards women. We can do much better than this here. The internet should be a safe place for women and minority groups to express themselves and to receive the recognition they deserve. If you don't like a piece or composer, that is completely understandable, but if you are going to put down women, and say they are less accomplished, or that they don't belong in classical music repertoire, then that is truly a shame. Of course, it is also understandable to acknowledge that it was much more difficult for women to pursue music and to receive a decent education in the past. What makes so many female composers exceptional, is that they defied this double standard and worked incredibly hard to become acknowledged.

The gentle strumming of the guitar makes my heart sing. This music speaks to my soul and fills me up with a sense of peace and love."

I've noticed that already with your previous video about female composers, but I'm surprised this time again to see this many French names. I had no idea my country was home to so many talented women, I've only ever learnt about men and it's a shame.
It's a thing to be curious and educate yourself, and look for other composers than the mainstream ones, including female ones. But it should be standard to teach about how women can and did compose as well, not only Clara Schumann. 😔 So many hidden gems that are waiting for people to discover and enjoy them.

It is a shame that women did not recieve the same amount of recognition than men for their work.

Evolution of Hans Zimmer or John Williams would be pretty interesting.

You know when you get that feeling of overload euphoria, overload confidence, overload awe, overload amazement, and overload That's what Clara Schumann's Praeludien gave me when I first heard this in this video, all wrapped up in a tight package with a nice bow. 😁😁😁😁😁

There's something absolutely tragic of someone's last piece being written when they were 24

Is there a piano solo version of Dora's violin sonata? It sounds amazing for piano solo!
