Judaism denies the old Testament altogether in favour of their oral tradition, what Paul called Jewish fables.They'd rather argue their own arguments against the interpretations of previous students than read the book properly.

Jesus Christ clashed with individuals who put the Seventh-day Sabbath above him as the Messiah. I would say that some Gentile Sabbath keeping denominations also have the same spirit of animosity (legalistic) towards Jesus (and other grace-Christians). I came from one such denomination and that denomination boasts of a prophetess - who, if you study the bible and contrast her writings with the bible - is secretly an Anti-Christ ('in replacement' of Christ). Her opinions downplayed Jesus' atonement at the cross. I got out of this denomination and became a Baptist. It is eerie: like a piece of Judaism - the seventh-day Sabbath - causes people - whether they are Jewish or Gentile - who incorporate it into their belief structure to fight against Christianity.

DP said he believes there was a spirit of anti-Christ amidst the crowd. It wasn't _just_ a spirit of anti-Christ--it was Satan _himself!_

At the feast of the Passover, Jesus said this in John 14:29-31 (KJV)
"And now I have told you before it come to pass, that, when it is come to pass, ye might believe.

Hereafter I will not talk much with you: for the prince of this world cometh, and hath nothing in me.

But that the world may know that I love the Father; and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, let us go hence."

Jesus had already referred to Satan as "the prince of the world" before:

In John 12:31
"Now is the judgment of this world: now shall the prince of this world be cast out."

And John 16:11
"Of judgment, because the prince of this world is judged."

It was Satan himself that stores the crowd up into a frenzy to convict Christ to a death sentence.
