Meaning / Story behind the song:
When we first heard Rachel Platten's "Fight Song" we were inspired by its message. In a world where we too often talk about our differences, we have at least one thing in common. We all struggle. Not in the same way, nor at the same level, but we all want a fighting chance. And we all share in one gift: The will to make the most of our lives. To take what we've been given and turn it into something better could be considered the sentient measuring stick of success. But to do so seldom is simple and more often requires we fight. Not against each other. But against the current threatening to drown the ambition in us.

There is a tremendous purpose in struggle. It is when the struggle becomes so fierce that we must fight to swim or sink. John Newton, who penned "Amazing Grace," worked on a slave trader ship and condoned inhuman atrocities. As his ship was on the verge of being torn apart in a violent storm he called out for Grace. Once his feet were again planted on firm soil he determined to change. His covenant was written into these words,

"I once was lost, but now I'm found; was blind, but now I see."

Grace is the defining moment when we face and fight a monster poised to define us or destroy us.

This song and video for us were a struggle, but a beautifully defining one. We chose the Scottish culture to depict the dichotomy between Grace and struggle. Who else is tough enough and yet delicate enough to don a kilt in battle? And the Scottish pipe and drum are the ultimate conveyors of melody and cadence. One represents Grace, the other the indomitable fight. Our dream was to film one of the most iconic castles on the Earth, Eilean Donan Castle in Dornie, Scotland.

I am 94 yrs. old and I absolutely love how the Piano Guys do this song. I play it over and over and never get tired of it. I also love Scotland and the Bagpipes and hope to go there before I leave this earth. Edna Carr, Cornish, ME

My brother died by suicide a week ago. Yesterday we played this song as they walked his casket to his grave. The men in the family always wear kilts as a tribute to our heritage. My brother loved his kilt and was proud to wear it. We buried him in it and my family wore there’s. This song reminds me of him and I can always feel him near when I listen to it.

My wife and I went to the Smith Center here in Las Vegas for their last show last night. I had forgotten about this song in their repertoire. My older brother had died from injuries sustained in an accident this past summer. He was a firefighter and my hero. I started bawling when they started to play and when the pipers came on stage I totally lost it. I’m still choking up writing this. Thank you The Piano Guys for an amazing show and letting me get out the emotions I have been keeping in

As my wife battles breast cancer, this has become our fight song. As the circle forms toward the end of the video, I am humbled as I am reminded of everyone encircling us with their prayers. She is in remission and her final chemo treatment is next week. This is a fight we will win!

I sent this to my lifetime friend since the first grade (60 years ago). He found out he had stage four cancer. He was a lifetime musician and could appreciate this awesome and moving piece. I am forever reminded that music is an incredible source of peace. God bless Bill.

I got married at this castle 18 years ago....long before drones😁 seeing this castle again and the bridge I walked down as the way to my husband to be....brought tears to my eyes. They are so talented and made a beautiful memory alive again in my soul. 💜💜💜 wish they could play this song at this castle Aug 2021 for my 20 year vow renewal. That would be awesome....just putting that out there😍

Just in case anybody wants to know Jon is wearing the traditional Scottish "Ferguson Ancient Tartan" plaid, while Steven is wearing a version of the "US Air Force Reserve Band tartan" plaid adopted in 1990. A Plaid is the the name of the tartan shawl worn draped over the shoulder. This is not to be confused by the Plaid PATTERN, which is a 2 or 3 color pattern of regular shapes (usually squares). A Tartan is a regular repeating pattern that is identical both vertically and horizontally (you can turn it 90 degrees in either direction and it still looks the same)

This is my little sister's favorite song in the whole world. She's been sitting in a hospital since June, and they won't allow music or cell phones, but I snuck my phone in so she could listen to this
