The Hidden Value of Extrinsic Value

Traders often look at intrinsic value to find the option's true value. After all, if you buy an option, you'd like to see it get pumped full of intrinsic value. However, the intrinsic value is just cash--or noise--that has nothing to do with the option. What's the real benefit of watching the extrinsic value?
