Epictetus says that “if your choices are beautiful, so too will you be.”

It’s simple but it’s true. You are what your choices make you, nothing more and nothing less. So make good choices today. Little ones and big ones: what you eat, how you talk to people, whether to watch TV or pick up a book, how you do your work, what you choose to think about.

Make good choices and all will be well. In this video Ryan Holiday outline's some of the best Stoic choices that you should make every day.

Truly finding stoicism is the only reason I’m alive still, half my friends died during Covid, suicides and overdoses, couldn’t handle nyc shutting down our industry shutdown and all the chaos- but I found stoicism and the daily email, and it’s made me such a better person and motivates me daily to be the best I can be while I’m here on this earth - thank you 🙏🏽

"Players gonna play, play, play, play, play
And the haters gonna hate, hate, hate, hate, hate (haters gonna hate)
Baby, I'm just gonna shake, shake, shake, shake, shake
I shake it off, I shake it off"

10:51: 💡 Take responsibility for your own emotions and choose not to be affected by others. Embrace death to live in the present moment. Set boundaries to protect yourself and maintain control of your own life.

I noticed I’ve been a stoic all my life without knowing I was a stoic. I’ve been put down, mistreated and yet I’ve never gave those people permission to hurt me. So here I’m…at 65…in one piece and smiling in gratitude.
Memento mortis…that’s my inspiration.
Amore fati…made me strong!

As a newly-retired woman, I find myself with a new mindset. Each moment is an unopened gift. I make the decision to look inside to see the beauty and peace it provides.

I stumbled across the Daily Stoic two years ago--right when my sister's cancer recurred...and I myself was diagnosed with the same. I don't know how I would've got through these simultaneous calamities without Stoic philosophy to call upon...

Thank you for the video, i want to share some of my routine:
1.Cultivating the Gratitude, start the day with telling myself what i am grateful about.
2.Finding joy in simple pleasures, whatever i am doing, making breakfast, walking outside (no matter the weather) just feel joy in everything you do.
3.Embracing mortality, when you understand that your time is not infinite, you start to value it more, procrastination disappears, gratitude comes.
4.Reminding myself my purpose.
5.Showing kindness to other. Is it complimenting others, helping others, or any other type of kindness.

Stay Strong, Stay Stoic.

I appreciate very much that you describe main mindsets that may be simple to hear, but not as simple to get done regularly, and they must be done, and one day ( according to me - yesterday ) I really started all these practices every single day forward

I think a huge thing to remember is that when he wrote each of these he was literally writing it as a lesson to himself! All of these motivations have to come internally for a person to stay consistent. Another thing is if you spend your time with people that are vain you will think like them eventually, and the reverse is also true.
I love the content it really is a noble mission to disperse this information and really explain it in depth! I can see by the look in your eyes when you shoot these videos, that your motivations, your “why” is to reach out to people who are ready to change the way they think but haven’t figured out how

Love the way this guy doesn’t speak from the ego. He truly practises what he preaches which is rare in humanity. ❤

Thank you for this video. I'm going through some stuff right now and it's easy to feel wronged, jaded, and hurt but it's my choice to dwell on it or not. Bless you.
