No matter how many times I watch it, “HIGH DRIVE, ITS TIED” will always give me chills

Looking back on this run, the Rays and Orioles series are underrated imo. 200 combined wins and the Rangers swept both of 'em. They had to fly from Seattle to Tampa to Baltimore about a week apart. Without those strong performances by the lineup and starting pitchers, we never see Garcia beating Houston or hitting a World Series walk-off. A remarkable ride all the way through!

First Rangers Game as a kid in 95 against the Yankees. (We lost)
First autograph, A-Rod at a local Mall
Attended first "actually paying attention" Game, '09, Vs. Angels. Hank Blalock walk off. The seed is firmly planted. Driving out was a biiiitch.
First complete season watched game-for-game, No gaps, no breaks. The Year of Baseball. Newfangled "iPad" and MLB At Bat.
First AL West title as an adult
First attended Playoff Game '10 (We lost)
First observed Playoff Series Win '10
First ALCS Victory
First time I see my team's logo in a Fall Classic
First Time watching my team get *bludgeoned* to death in a World Series.
First time thinking "I'm just glad they got to where they got. Let's make it back next year and win it all."

I was at game three of the Baltimore series with my nephew. That was an awesome day and I was glad to be able to share it with my nephew.

As awesome as this postseason run was for the Rangers, there's a special side note for me. Late in the ALCS, I lost my Mom while she was in the hospital due to complications from illness. In dealing with sadness from my Mom's death, this postseason run became an incredible beacon of light and hope for me. When the Rangers went o to the World Series, I wasn't sure they would win, but I was going to enjoy every bit of this Series and hope for a different outcome from 2011. On the last out of game 5, I wept because it would've been nice to share the moment with my Mom.. even though she wasn't a big baseball fan. It's just a joy to relive this postseason run anytime I'd like. The emotions are as genuine as when they originally happened.

I still get teary eye'd watching the 2023 run. Ending of the regular season, then the stress of the playoffs against some seriously scary teams. The series versus the Astros was ulcer levels of amazing. Best sports month I ever had as a fan.

I’ll never forget being able to go to Game 3 of the ALDS. Such a magical night. This playoff run I will cherish forever.

Almost 2 years later and I always come back to relive this run when I need a smile and to shed some tears of joy. My dad took me to so many games growing up and instilled a passion for baseball in me unlike anything else. He passed away 2 years before this run and we won game 5 the day after what would’ve been his 48th birthday. He would’ve been so proud but I know he got front row seats up above. Thanks for posting this, I’m still praying we get to do it again soon !
