Charlie was a friend of mine. One of the nicest people I ever met. Said he liked me because I never treated him different. Never asked for an autograph. His wife was the word slinger and they worked well. I cried when he passed. He was down to earth... and yeah very country.

OMG!!! OMG!!!! I’m dumbfounded to see this! My grandma LOVED Charlie Rich (and George Jones) She had this record in her big ole cabinet style record player- I was listening to whatever I could get my hands on in PRE-SCHOOL, all the way to allowance age, when I could start buying my own 45 records- THIS is a song I absolutely LOVED at a very young age! Didn’t really grasp the full meaning then, (knew it was about “love” 😆) I just loved the way it sounded- “Halfbreed” by Cher was another one- anyway, sooo ready to listen now! 🤘🏼💛💟☮️🤘🏼✌️

I could never keep it straight between Charlie Rich and Charlie Pride when I was a kid. Both were country stars with huge crossover hits.

"The Silver Fox". Many don't know, Charlie started out singing rockabilly on Sun Records. Used to have a collection of those songs on vinyl, very rare. Wish I still had it.

Saw him several times as a child. Parents would take me with them to concerts. Got to meet him, Charlie Pride, Porter Wagoner, Dolly Parton, Loretta Lynn and so many other great country artists

I remember my mom being in love with this guy when I was a kid. I'm 60 years old now and moms been gone for years. This song brings tears to my eyes.
