150th Anniversary of the London Undergound. Steam train through Baker Street Station, February 2013

Dug through my files and found this, and another, video from the London Underground 150th in 2013. I don't think this can happen again due to changes to the signaling system on the Circle and Hammersmith & City lines but please correct if I have this wrong. I took a ride on this a few days before and returned to get video after while there was still an opportunity

That is a magic bit of video. Imagine being in the station and not knowing that was about to happen. The excited shrieking might have given something away!

I remember the DC locos in the 50's on the Met line. We called them Bug's. The steam engines were used into the 60's for shunting on the Metropolitan and Bakerloo line at Neasden.

I love steam trains, but I just realized that the london underground would have been a special kind of hell before they electrified.

I'm surprised they had a fully operating steam engine. I assumed the fumes would have posed a risk in the underground stations.

The obvious solution would have been something like this retrofitting the Metropolitan Railway electric locomotives steam locomotives 4TCs with ETCS Overlaid on CBTC. If you want to see that in action where it's feasible Thameslink tunnels.
Just have a question here about Sarah Siddons Locomotive does it have Southern Railway MU System to actually operate an entire set of 4TCs Class 438s or not? The other set that can actually clear here are 4REPs
