QuickTime Player Tutorial: How to Record Computer Screen AND Webcam (Mac)

Показать описание
In this tutorial I show you how to record your computer screen and your on-screen narration, or "talking head" AT THE SAME TIME, using just QuickTime Player on the Mac.

*NOTE: To reduce the chances of your lips being out of sync with your voice in the final recording, reduce your Mac's display resolution before recording. Go into System Preferences - Displays. With the Display button selected, under Resolution, select the resolution to the left of "Default." This is especially helpful on an iMac with a 5K screen. Few pixels to record means a better chance of things staying in sync.

Written tutorial for reference:

1. Open Quicktime Player
2. Set up Facecam
In quicktime --> file --> new movie recording
(optional). Click the arrow next to the big record button for further options (video quality, camera, mic)
Shrink the movie recording window the smallest size possible and drag it to the bottom right of your screen

3. Set up screen recording
In quicktime --> file --> new screen recording
Again, click the arrow next to the big record button for options. Make sure to select the microphone you want to use for screen recording. This will be the mic that picks up your voice as you go. Select "show mouse click in recording" if you want to highlight every mouse click in your recording

4. Begin recording
----1. Click the red record button on the "Screen Recording" window NOT the record button on the "facecam" window.
----2. Click to record the full screen
----3. If you want the facecam to stay on top of other applications, in the quicktime menu, go to view --> "float on top"
----4. To stop recording, use the keyboard shortcut: command-control-esc. Alternatively, click the stop button on the top right of the menu bar
----5. Save the video file that pops up after ending the recording.

I know this video is 1.5 years old, but I wanted to thank you for this. I'm a teacher who has to work from home in the Corona virus emergency. I have a school-issued mac and this was so helpful. I'm going to share it with my colleagues.
