About Program:
The Sitar is an ancient instrument from the 16th century which had undergone major development through the years, reaching its final forms divided into two different styles in the 20th century through the hands of ustad vilayat khan and pt. Ravi Shankar. We take an in-depth tour of the instrument: the making and the playing with the audience present gradually exploring the music through a performance. A musical evening, presenting serious and romantic approaches.
The start would be an approach with heavy Raags gradually moving on to lighter ragas towards in the end as a dessert to the ears for the end. The tabla will be constantly accompanying exploring it’s characteristics and showcasing different solos according to the melody, as well.
