Tetra Pak promised us (on their cartons) back in the 1980’s that these cartons were recyclable. All we had to do was find the recycler. We took the bait. All manufacturers of plastics should be responsible for recycling and reusing the materials.

This is just a marketing tactic by the packaging company. We need to go back to refillable bottles made from glass. Plastics are terrible for environment and human health don't let them pretend that "recycling" a tiny proportion into awful building materials is viable.

I'm from India. My family milk is brought by milk man in big utensil (made of Aluminium or steel) so no need for package milk. Feeling proud and good that we don't produce that waste. In India many families do same or consider walking to near by dairy take fresh milk.

They should sell them in glass so they can reuse the bottles

Please do a segment on the use of old fashioned glass bottles and compare the energy footprint. Then we can determine if this is all just green washing.

There’s no reason for this to only be done in “third world “ countries. The entire world should be reusing such materials and solving housing needs and providing jobs

Building your house out of recycled paper cartons? What could possible go wrong 😑

greenpeace says that only 5% of materials can be recycled. it also takes more energy to recycle these materials than to produce them. Reduce, Reuse, and Recycle was coined by BP. I can go on..

Instead of recycling the plastic they should be focusing on removing plastic completely and it is possible as we never used to have plastic

Cleaning up your own mess is hardly commendable. What happened to the tetra packs I grew up with that had no foil or plastic layers?

They're not doing this out of the goodness of their hearts folks. There is a profit motive

I'm in my 70s now and I remember when milk was delivered to our house and it was in glass bottles. Glass is better.

Tetrapak provided a solution to recycle and 90% of countries put it in the too hard basket, same here in NZ you can recycle them in auckland in places but no-where else will accept them eventho there is a recycling centre for them

Other countries are way better than America. We would never consider doing anything that useful for society.

TetraPak expected people to mail in their empty cartons in the past. They are a recycling nightmare. There is still no good collection system.

World without plastic existed and thrived until one day Plastic was promoted and ingrained as "Indispensable, Versatile, Recyclable"...
