How to Remove the Extra, Unwanted Language Keyboard Layout Taskbar Windows 10 [Solution]

In Windows, you can configure your keyboard to use a different keyboard layout or input method to type in another language.

Although Windows 10 allows you to configure multiple keyboard layouts when setting up a new installation, you can always add or remove layouts if you did not select the correct option or you now require to type in another language.

The language of your keyboard layout controls the characters that appear on your screen when you type. By using the different layouts, you can type all the characters for the language, including diacritics such as the umlaut (ä) in German and the tilde (ñ) in Spanish.

man finally. thank you, this works perfectly. nothing in the settings worked, i've tried everything and i made it even worse, somehow i added another "English US" layout that said it had unrecognized locale or something. now it's fixed, only English US and I added the Greek that I wanted. perfect, thank you so much again.

The issue that I have is that I want 2 languages only (french and japanese). In the keyboard options, I as expected, only have those 2. However when I press Alt + Shift to switch from Japanese to French, I have English in between, but I never installed this one, I'm not using it and I don't want it ! The worst is that It appears nowhere, not even with the command in the powershell ! It's not a big issue but still a bit annoying, have to press the combination twice to go back to French language.

Love how you need Powershell to achieve such a basic thing. Just removing the input language you don't want isn't enough, Windows will always be glad to turn it back on for you :)
