Canadian Museum of History 2015–2016 exhibitions
Hope and heroism. Greed and glory. Riots and revolts. You’ll find them all during the incredible 2015-2016 season at the Canadian Museum of History. Relive some of Canada’s most important milestones, with exhibitions on Terry Fox’s inspiring Marathon of Hope, the British Columbia gold rush and the tumultuous 30-year journey to Confederation, the birth of our country.
This season’s international exhibitions will put priceless treasures from Ancient and Medieval Europe on display, including exquisite gold, bronze and marble artifacts from Ancient Greece, a diverse collection of authentic Viking objects and an original copy of the Magna Carta, dating to 1300. And, at the Children’s Museum, kids will enjoy meeting their favourite railway friends when Thomas the Tank Engine rolls into town.
Travel five thousand years in a single day at the Canadian Museum of History.
Special thanks to: McCord Museum; Library and Archives Canada; Terry Fox Centre; Hellenic Ministry of Culture, Education and Religious Affairs; Durham Cathedral, Great Britain; The Swedish History Museum and MuseumsPartner, Austria; Australian National Maritime Museum; Minnesota Children’s Museum; Royal BC Museum.
