Sir in example 4 question c why didn't you calculate the tension in the hanging(y plane) block, you only calculated the tension in the x plane(sliding block)

In the first example, you put the summation of the forces as fa+fb+fc =0. I'm a little confused about how that came to be since after finding the values, if we substitute them it won't be equal to zero. Or, do we have to take into consideration their directions or something like that?
