If you’ve ever noticed when your dog meets a new animal (generally another dog)they immediately sniff their rear end. This is so they can determine how aggressive they are and know if they will be a playmate or if they will need to protect their master. I once also read that through evolution dogs have become “immune” for lack of a better word to the smell of feces and can smell instead the hormones that the animal is emitting or if the stool is already on the ground what nutrients it contains. So when the dog approaches the roomba they try to sniff it but then it turns suddenly (which the dog takes as an act of aggression) and then they respond accordingly and depending on how far the roomba advances too the dog may even bite it (the dog then runs away when it realizes it can’t penetrate its skin).

Back to the same philosophy, what is the difference between dogs and cats...? Dogs serve people, cats get served by people.
