It is good to see somebody mention the crappy USB controller. They should have gone wih the one on the C4 because that doesn't seem to encounter any issues bot in terms of performance but also one of hardware failure, which Hardkernel have yet to fully acknowledge as a real potential issue. Recent updates of CoreELEC and one of the Linux distros was killing the USB completely when a certain option was enabled and this should never happen as a result of a software change.

It seems that so many reviews of products these days are afraid to over criticise something.

Terrible warranties should always be mentioned too when reviewing any Odroid product, especially in light of the very fragility of the N2/+.

Great run down! The CPU is definitely a big plus! It is unfortunate about the USB controller. I appreciate the information about wifi drivers for 5Ghz adapters. Great comparison of flavors of Linux and video throughputs. Thanks!

Nice review and video! The original N2 is one of the most capable SBCs I've ever had. The N2+ will only be better. Been running Armbian Bionic (minimal) on mine.

Great review, NicoD. You just saved me a lot of money and frustrations. Also good to know the limitations on the VIM3. Really liked the production quality of the EDGE-V, although it had a display issue. But, it was lost in the mail when I tried to return it. "Oh well, "

Hello Nico. I have already N2. I am using as desktop replacement (armbian). It's worth upgrading to N2+? I am using for software development and work remotely (ssh, rdestkop, vnc etc)...it's more than perfect for this tasks...but for browsing...sometimes I feel that it's a little bit slow (a specially if I am watching youtube and browsing sites like google maps etc).
I am working from home, so, using my destkop (80W idle) its a little bit too much...but upgrading to N2+ it's also a little bit expensive (I am in europe)...so I want to be sure that it's worth spending that money.
