Plex on Unraid: The Ultimate Guide for Beginners

Thanks for this. As mentioned by someone else, I previously had Plex working but somehow it stopped and was apparently indicating that the database was being migrated for some reason. It remained in this status for days. Since this is all pretty obscure to me, I wound up uninstalling the other version, and after finding your tutorial, installed the binhex version, following your instructions. It worked perfectly, and now everything is working again.

I do have one additional inquiry, and that is if there is some sort of Plex database backup procedure that should be done. I don't even really have any clue as to what that means or what would get backed up. In this case, for example, all my media files were still on Unraid even though Plex would not run. But, should I be backing up something to avoid having to re-install again?

Very helpful video, which worked wonders when I first installed Plex on my Unraid server. After installing a GPU, I had to re-install the container (variable for GPU was missing). I now am unable to access the Web UI when following your tutorial verbatim. Instead, I receive the message "This XML file does not appear to have any style information associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

Any help solving would be greatly appreciated!

In your useful "everything Unraid" playlist, and unless I am mistaken this tutorial is not there. For beginner noobs like me, this is confusing as the radarr tutorial talks about this plex tutorial. I’ve been running plex on my unraid and never really considered how secure remote access is. How secure is this actually? I’m not using any proxies, it’s just the docker running with remote access enabled. I know nothing is secure 100% but are there any precautions a person should take to reduce the chances of being targeted or is this straight and simple as it seems?

I am getting an XML error every time I run the WebUI for binhex-plex

I just setup Unraid and i wanted to know is it possible to add external NAS network path to Plex? I tried adding SMB share to unassigned devices. Plex sees the movies from the NAS but it won't play.

Could you assist with why radarr is moving my movies to my /media folder but it won't move it to my /media/movies folder? Couldn't figure out if I was off on a directory or something ?
