Icon 48oz Large Steel Core Dead Blow Hammer Review

This actually seems reasonable for the price and is the long awaited upgrade to the very old and orange Pittsburgh dead blow hammers. It just could use a softer and more comfortable handle.

I visited 2 HFs today. They are not close to where I live. I have to admit that some of the pricing has cooled my interest. I bought a 4 pound dead blow off of the SO truck and they have replaced it 3 times. I paid about $100 for it initially. They continually upgrade their products and they have always given me the latest and greatest current tool. No regrets on that purchase.

The orange clown hammers are great and cheap. I beat up the 3lb for years now in repair carpentry. Beat the hell out of it, still going strong. 7$ on sale, can't go wrong

I have all 3 sizes from Icon. I use them in the industrial setting. Great for moving heavy metal parts into desired places.

I have one of the orange hammers and it's been a fantastic tool for me.

A 45 oz Soft Face Dead Blow made by Trusty-Cook in the USA is $39.00. Or if you have a store that sells Tekton tools it can also be had for $45.

I bought a Neiko 4lb. dead blow for $21 from Azon. Pretty nice. I wouldn't pay 40.

My machine excludes the use of any comfort grip tools. So much oil (metal forming) that that type of rubber does not last. I've also seen the NAPA sells their brand of deadblows, too.

Hello again Catus Maximus and Tiny
Thank you for another Great Video 👍 I am not sure about the ICON Hammer. $40 bucks seems too much. Again thank you 😊

I can 100% not recommend the Icon hammers. Not when you can get Trusty Cooks for a few bucks more, and they're US made.

I've been very happy with my orange HB deadblows. They also have a softer feeling plastic, and have held up very well so far. They're great for things like setting or adjusting decking support columns...generally anything you don't want marred, but need to shift or move.

to be honest it don't look a great buy for 40+ bucks, looks bit of a lower cost manufacture choice effort and trusty cook best way go for mid-range decent dead blow hammer options .
HF either needs sell it cheaper or make it more premium ...
