Mooer Shimverb vs Strymon Bluesky

Shimmer reverb face off! This is just a comparison between the "shimmer" settings on these two reverbs and not a full out battle royal. The other Mooer Shimverb videos were poopy and had no explaining. ENJOY!

Just have to echo (no pun intended) the other posts about the quality of this demo.  Very informative and to the point.  I'm not interested in people "showing off" their guitar skills and trying to pass it off as a "review".  THIS is a review, and a good one at that.

How can you even compare them? It's like a fight between a cat and a lion. Lol

Really useful cheers! Didn't realise the Shimverb worked in 5ths, you've saved me a few £!

Thanks for your review, straight to the point how it should be. I'm gonna save for the BlueSky.

Thanks for posting this! I was thinking about getting the mooer but not after this video. You're right, the fifths would be hard to work with and I didn't think it sounded nearly as full as the bluesky. I have a ehx cathedral reverb right now but might be going ahead and trading it in and getting a Strymon

awesome review man, been looking for a pedal EXACTLY like the mooer shimverb, just the basics with that shimmer that's become so poplular. strymon is awesome, just out of my price range.

I sold my Shimverb after purchasing the BlueSky. Now thinking about it, I might want to buy it again, just to combine the two, see what happens. Whatever comes out of it, I can probably do some tweaking on my DAW. Good video anyways bro. Bluesky is the best, no contest. Shimverb by itself is too weak.

I have yet to hear a demo where the Shimverb sounds good. If it hit the octave, similar to the BlueSky, it would be a very compelling pedal

Great detail Mooer pedal review, man!

Overall a great comparison video. But where can I buy that carpet?

I don't get why people slag off the shimverb. It's a different effect. It's a great pedal for binding your guitar to a mix without overdoing it. It's all about context. There are a million digital reverbs out there that can do what the Strymon can do. I picked up a shimverb for £30 and it's a great addition to my setup.

good demo and you figured out what was tripping up a lot of users.

ok, but in my country the Strymon costs 6 times more than the Shimverb. Besides, it's not completely useless the 5th deal.

Great stuff definitely want a strymon. Been looking into everything from a cathedral to a hall of fame and nothing compares

I think the main reason for the Mooer sounding shit compared to this is because the 5th above is not a very pleasing sound compared to a straight octave above. If the mooer did I high octave instead it would be much closer soundwise.

Thank you for pointing out that the shimverb plays 5th's instead of octaves...a lot of review videos sound quality don't really show that too well.

great demo, and that carpet really begs substance abuse to stare at it.

the blue sky also does fifths if you set the reverb to the spring setting
