Thank you so much for this video.
I saw it and did practice on my virtual box. It really worked. I am learning so much

Thanks for this great tutorial. I have a point of confusion though. When creating a replication group I noticed that even though I selected the full mesh topology, changes to shares on my secondary server didn't seem to replicate to the primary server, only from the primary to the secondary. I thought that with full mesh replication would be bidirectional. Am I misunderstanding how this works?

Nice video and easy to understand 👍👍👍. Question, i have a main share folder called F1F2 and setup DFS to replicate all the sub-folder to another file server 2. Now can i setup one of the sub-folder to replicate only 1 way instead of 2 way?

Hi Danny, thanks for the video. In a scenario where there has been 1 File Server and I would like to upgrade the OS of the File Server... so my plan is to spin up a new File Server on the new OS, add it as a replication server, let DFS sync all the files to the new server and then make the new server the primary. At that point I can disable the old file server and use the remaining one.

If I have 200 folders being shared on the original file server, do I need to create 200 folders before I let DFS populate them or can DFS create those folders somehow?

Hi, great video, thanks! What would be your advice if I wanted to replicate for example, 5 namespaces with 10 shared folders in each namespace? Or is creating 50 replication jobs the only way to do it? Thanks!

Hey Danny, in this scenario with the two file shares replicating, is there anything to be wary of when VSS is enabled on DC01 for example on the E drive?

Hello,

I have 2 different file servers and I want to show 2 different folders on these 2 servers as a single folder via DFS (My DFS server is installed on a different server than my file servers.)

I added it as a target folder in Namespaces in the DFS management area and did not assign the different folders on the 2 servers to it.

When I go to the namespace sharing area on dfs via clients, I only see the data on 1 server. Why does this happen? What am I missing/doing wrong?

Hello, wondering do we need to install DFS roles on Fileservers or those roles could run on other servers?

I have a question about the name space then. If they are shared through the name space system and then it doesn’t matter what server they’re closest to correct? It will use whatever server it has the best connection to?
