This is possibly one of the most beautiful videos the F1 channel has posted to YouTube. Beautiful because of how detailed and informative it is. This is a must watch. It's a great lesson in F1 history new and long-time fans will enjoy.

This is the long-form, big-picture storytelling that F1 often lacks and only the core fanbase gets to experience.
Great job all around.

Honda has absolutely produced a comeback that was remarkable. So many critics when they manage McLaren’s engine but the toro Rosso performance in the 2018 season really proved Red Bull to have Honda and they worked so hard to win their championships in 2021 to 2023. Fair play Honda, what an amazing comeback you have produced.

Just from the title I expect this to be an investigative piece by RPM going down the rabbit hole how Mclaren made Red Bull the current dominator

Mercedes leaving mclaren started in 2007 when mercedes had to pay 40% of the 100m dollar fine from spygate. Then they were angry at mclaren for building the mp4 12C a direct competitor to the amg sls. Mercedes wanted to take over mclaren, but they refused, so when brawn became available, they brought that sold its shares in mclaren.

What an amazing documentary. I started watching F1 in 2008, which is where the context of both this video and my love for the sport began. To put it all in retrospect and to see that I witnessed everything in this documentary without realizing it gave me goosebumps. As another said, the big picture is something only the core fanbase can appreciate, and I'm glad to be humbly reminded why this sport is amazing (and frustrating), and it was lovely to reminisce the older days. Thank you!! ❤

One of the reasons that Mclaren is rising is that manufacturers can't upgrade their engines, so works don't have the advantage that they used to have

I still remember that last lap in Brazil 2008. That raw drama and emotion has only ever been rivalled once, at Abu Dhabi 2021, albeit under manufactured circumstances.
