Ridiculous, much as I love my 500. I have driven all kinds of cars throughout my life, from VW, BMW through to Mercedes, and fuel caps have always been totally intuitive. First time in 40 years of motoring I needed to watch an instruction video for opening the tank. Thank you for posting. The comments make me realise it’s not down to my going senile.

I’m glad I’m not the only one who doesn’t know how to open/close the cap correctly 😅 my partner thought I was going insane! I’ve had my fist since August 23 and I dread putting fuel in. I will practice this on the drive before I go next time 👏🏼

my wife just got a new fiat 500 so she just called me, and asked how to open it? She was emberrased because she was trying to get it open for 5 mins. Thank god i found this youtube vid or otherwise she would still be standing there.

Thank you! I managed to open somehow but Had to ask two men at the petrol station for help to lock it after tanking and they failed ! 😅 I drove off with a piece of cloth stuck ... to hold a cup ... 😂

I was at a petrol station frantically twisting the petrol cap in all different directions trying to get it to lock for 15 minutes and I finally found the place it locks and then instantly forgot 😂

It works similar on the Alfa Romeo Mito. I have my Mito for 2 years now and it took me until this video to finally figure out how it properly closes. Until now it was just a random mess of attempts haha
