So glad I found your videos, and your website designing sensibilities are superb! The UI is so well-done, and makes navigation such a joy. Thanks for all of the top-notch work you do. I love seeing notifications for new EBR reviews in my inbox, and it always makes me smile to hear that bike bell ring at the beginning of each video. :)

Cort, I really like you reviews, very concise, level headed info and no stupid background music noise. Good going. I just put together a Franken-bike concoction (home built) and have watched many ebike videos. Yours are the best. It is interesting to see the variety of configurations. The ERB logo on the thumbnails to the right-makes it easy to notice one of your vids- cool.

Great review. May I ask what camera you use?

A friend of mine bought a couple when they were first promoted. They took a long time to arrive, but when they did, they were easy to assemble and after some adjustments, very easy to ride. Can't speak to the range because that is always rider dependent, but on a scale of 1-10 here are my impressions:
Price...10
Assembly...8
Range...6
Power...6
Speed...5
Weight...8
Comfort...7
Battery Quality...5
Controller Features ...5
Security Features...3

Overall 6.3/10

Hey... Your missing one big detail in all the reviews I have seen so far... Charging it... How Long it takes & can you charge it easily if your traveling from point A to B to C... Caring the plug with you... I want to bike 50 miles to wherever charge it then bike back... Please include this important detail...

Hey man! It looks like you're using a camera stabilizer to record this video. Could you share what device are you using to have such a stable video? Cool review BTW! Thanks for enlightening us all through your content :)

I need to ask you something. Since you mentioned that you answer all your comments to the best of your ability,  plus you mentioned the "Copenhagen Wheel" is having VERY long 'wait times' for fulfilling orders, and I just got the 'Cannondale T-900' I've been mentioning; I was going to order a "Copenhagen Wheel", but I don't want to wait (possibly) a year to receive it. Also, I wish to keep the weight on this bike down,  and finally,  have a downtube-mounted battery. Could you please give me an idea of which kit to go for, or should I just stay with the "Copenhagen Wheel"? What would be your opinion?

I really liked this video and the issues it raises, and I agree with most of them. I currently have an extremely similar bike that I was basically going to swap the e-bike components into (Mongoose Dolomite). The way I figure it, it would be approx $300 for the kit and $200 for the bike at the current price point.

I have a question though - in your opinion, if I were to look for a similar, bare-bones setup without a lot of bells/whistles (such as regenerative braking, etc), what would be the cost of a bare-bones system similar to the one on the Storm bike? I've looked around, but finding a fat bike kit has proven kind of difficult.

My friend just got this bike. I think for $499 it was a really good deal. It is a fat bike. It has a Bafang 36V 350W geared rear hub motor and the battery and controller are in the triangle case. Interestingly the battery is a bottle battery that doesn't really need the surrounding case, but the controller lives there to. The battery has Samsung cells, so it look pretty high quality (I am guessing it is 10aH). As soon as you turn the bike on, it give you pedal assist which is modest and is not adjustable apparently. If you need more boost, you use the throttle. Frame, wheels, tires, handlebars, brakes, etc all look pretty solid. Biggest negative for me is it is a fat bike and so you have to want that kind of bike and second, it is a single speed. Overall, for what it is, $499 was a great price.

I paid for one of these bikes last night. I definitely have some skepticism, but at the end of the day with the amount of money and attention they've gotten I'm 99% sure a bike is gonna show up at my house in May. It might weigh 50 pounds and only go 15 mph for 10 miles but the question I asked myself before purchasing was do I believe I will get a product that is worth 500$ to me and the answer was yes. Thanks for breaking it down though!
