«ΕΠΙΘΥΜΙΑ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑΣ» - Η Ελληνική Επανάσταση «ζωντάνεψε» σε κτίρια 18 πόλεων σε όλη την Ελλάδα.

Σάββατο 12 και Κυριακή 13 Ιουνίου, η Ελληνική Επανάσταση «ζωντάνεψε» σε όλη την Ελλάδα, στο πλαίσιο μίας κεντρικής δράσης της Επιτροπής «Ελλάδα 2021». Σε χαρακτηριστικά κτίρια 18 πόλεων, προβλήθηκε με την τεχνική του projection mapping η «ΕΠΙΘΥΜΙΑ ΕΛΕΥΘΕΡΙΑΣ».
Το μεγαλύτερο εγχείρημα Projection Mapping που έχει γίνει ποτέ στην Ελλάδα!

Πρόκειται για μια οπτικοποιημένη αφήγηση του Αγώνα του 1821, μέσα από έργα τέχνης που αναφέρονται σε αυτόν. Η προβολή έγινε ταυτόχρονα στις όψεις και των 18 επιλεγμένων κτιρίων, με προεξάρχον το κτίριο της Βουλής των Ελλήνων. Εκτός από την ιστορία της Επανάστασης, οι προβολές συνδέονται και με στοιχεία της νεότερης ιστορίας κάθε πόλης.

Η δημιουργία του καλλιτεχνικού αφηγήματος του υλικού και η προσαρμογή του πάνω στα κτίρια έγινε από το Εργαστήριο Μεταβαλλόμενων Ευφυών Περιβαλλόντων (TUC TIE Lab) της Αρχιτεκτονικής Σχολής του Πολυτεχνείου Κρήτης.

Η τεχνική υλοποίηση της δράσης πραγματοποιήθηκε από:

Οι πόλεις στις οποίες πραγματοποιήθηκε η δράση είναι:
Αθήνα (κτίριο της Βουλής των Ελλήνων), Αλεξανδρούπολη (Ζαρίφειος Παιδαγωγική Ακαδημία), Ηράκλειο (κτίριο Περιφέρειας Κρήτης), Θεσσαλονίκη (Βασιλικό Θέατρο), Ιωάννινα (Δικαστικό Μέγαρο), Καλαμάτα (Εικαστικό Εργαστήρι - Κέντρο Τέχνης), Κέρκυρα (Παλαιό Δημαρχείο), Λαμία (Δημοτικό Θέατρο), Λάρισα (Λέσχη Αξιωματικών Φρουράς), Μεσολόγγι (Δημοτική Πινακοθήκη), Νάουσα (Δημαρχείο), Ναύπλιο (Δημαρχείο), Πειραιάς (Δημοτικό Θέατρο Πειραιά), Ρόδος (Δημαρχείο), Σύρος (Θέατρο Απόλλων), Τρίπολη (Δικαστικό Μέγαρο), Χανιά (Θέατρο Μίκης Θεοδωράκης) και Χίος (Τείχος του Κάστρου - Porta Maggiore).

Η επιλογή των κτιρίων έγινε από τους ίδιους τους Δήμους, ενώ για την προετοιμασία της δράσης υπήρξε στενότατη συνεργασία της Επιτροπής «Ελλάδα 2021» με την Τοπική Αυτοδιοίκηση.

Σημειώνεται ότι το εικαστικό περιεχόμενο επενδύεται από μια πρωτότυπη μουσική σύνθεση, ενώ οι προβολές ενισχύθηκαν από μια εγκατάσταση με ατμοσφαιρικά στοιχεία φωτισμού στον περιβάλλοντα χώρο.

‘Desire For Freedom’ is the title of large-scale digital projections that will be performed on key public buildings at 18 cities across the country on Saturday and Sunday June12-13.

Organized by the “Greece 2021” Committee, it is the largest digital projection mapping event ever held in Greece, according to the committee’s announcement.

It is a visual narrative with relevant works of art depicting the history of the Greek Revolution, yet the projections also address each city’s modern history. The digital screening comprises paintings and archival documents including books and official reports. More than 300 engravings and paintings from museums, municipalities, and private collections in Greece and abroad were put together for the show, created through a unique visual layering technique, which animates works of art, adding depth, movement, and sound.
Projection of the artistic narrative was adapted to the particular dimensions of each building, taking into consideration dimensions of height, length, and width, and shapes and surface textures, and even lighting conditions.

Production of the artistic narrative and its adaptation on the buildings was executed by the Laboratory of Transformable Intelligent Environments (TUC TIE Lab) of the School of Architecture of the Technical University of Crete.

The projections will take place simultaneously on the facades of 18 buildings chosen by each municipality in the cities and municipalities of:
Athens (the Hellenic Parliament building), Alexandroupolis (Zarifeios Pedagogical Academy), Heraklion (the building of the Region of Crete), Thessaloniki (Royal Theatre), Ioannina (Judicial Hall), Kalamata (Visual Arts Workshop – Art Center), Corfu (Old Town Hall), Lamia (Municipal Theatre), Larissa (Club of Guard Officers), Messolonghi (Municipal Gallery), Naoussa (Town Hall), Nafplio (Town Hall), Piraeus (Municipal Theater of Piraeus), Rhodes (Town Hall), Syros (Apollo Theatre), Tripoli (Judicial Hall), Chania (Mikis Theodorakis Theatre), Chios (Castle Wall – Porta Maggiore).

Furthermore, the visual content is accompanied by an original musical composition, and the projections will be further enhanced by an installation of atmospheric lighting in the surrounding area.
