You can not own a property on Mustique w/o making it available for rental, at least that's the way it used to be. I ran into Mick, Jerry Hall with some of the kids, David Bowie at the medical clinic and Robert Plant on a walk-about on the island. Basil's Bar was the place to be and everyone was there! Those were some great times I must say. No one made a fuss about them at all, they/we knew better as it was a sanctuary.

She was definitely an interesting woman. I am not feeling sorry for someone who lived an extremely privileged life, paid for by others.

How her friend Ann could say she wasn’t spoiled is beyond me when she expected Ann’s husband to pay for her mansion on the island after gifting her the land ! No wonder Ann’s late husband changed is Will at the last moment leaving everything to a friend !

Beautiful place! I went there in 2004, on a private catamaran out of Bequia. We had to leave the island by 3 pm because there was going to be a " jump up" party, for Mick Jagger, at Basils.

When I worked in Israel as a chef for a Church of England Pilgrim's Hospice in Jaffa followed by the Hilton Tel-Aviv for a total of ten years, I wrote to Princess Margaret after she had scalded her feet and sent her some tiny shells I had gathered on the shores of the Sea of Galilee that I made into a bookmark, and I received a very gracious reply letter via her Lady-In-Waiting, as I was aware that many high-ranking royals had never been there.

Her Late Royal Highness is no longer with us, but I still have that letter which I treasure.
