My seven year old loved 2112 at five, because it was the “longest song ever.” Longest, biggest, tallest… these things have always pleased him.

His favourite song today is Roll the Bones, because he loves to dance to it.

Last week, however, I introduced him to Cygnus X-1 Book I because he’s become a big fan of astrophysics and cosmology. He agrees with me that it’s a pretty cool musical interpretation of flying into a black hole (which, of course, he instantly knew as the first black hole, on which scientific consensus formed back in the mid-70’s.
