Tad Williams's trilogies are usually four books :) You can't go wrong with this absolute classic.

The Dragonbone Chair and The Pariah and definitely both on my TBR! I loved Grace of Kings ❤

I would love to hear you talk more about reading Ken Liu! I have had Grace of Kings for years (and love listening to him speak in podcasts and talks). Hearing you talk about your experience may spur me to pick up the copy that's been on my shelf. 😊

I loved Justice of Kings! Pariah was ok from what I remember, I would still like to continue when I get a chance. Also want to read Age of Myth!

I can't remember if you've already done Under the Northern Sky, A Chorus of Dragons, or Remembrance of Earth's Past, but those are my 2023 series plans. I also just finished book 5 of The Sun Eater and can't recommend the series highly enough! 🎉

Legacy of Ash, Grace of Kings, Ember Blade, and the Pariah are all on my list! Although I'm prioritizing Joe Abercrombie and John Gwynne this year.

I am soooo happy to see you reading Dandelion Dynasty, it's one of my all-time faves! The first one is by far my least favourite though, it is so different from the rest of the books. Definitely give book 2 a shot even if you weren't sold on book 1, I think you won't regret it ;)
And Age of Myth is another one of my faves, it's such a comfort series and there are some all-time favourite characters in there!
I am personally also really interested in Legacy of Ash and Ashes of the Sun, let me know when you feel in the mood to pick those up!!
Happy reading Britt 🥰

I also enjoyed The Justice of Kings. I got the first one in a kindle sale and will probably keep them in that format for reasons. Looking forward to the second book

Dandelion Dynasty is a real winner so far. Getting to Veiled Throne in March. I'm currently reading Justice of Kings as we speak

The Grave of Kings is fantastic and so is Ashes of the Sun. Think you will really enjoy them both. Xx

Justice of Kings is a great book. It's like fantasy meets Law and Order. I read and loved Legacy of Ash. It was the best book of 2021 for me. But, that second book has some serious issues that's made me take a break from finishing the third book.

Now, if you're looking for something new I'd recommend two series: 1. The Sun Eater series by Christopher Rucchio. It's a Sci-Fantasy series that's just phenomenal and currently has 5/7 out. The second and my most hyped series is The Bound and The Broken by Ryan Cahill. If you've never stepped into the indie realm (and the self-pub/indie realm is perfect if you're burnt out on traditional published fantasy) this series is the place to start. It's a modern take on the traditional Dragonrider tale, but done so damn well that it's very much worth the ride. If the first book doesn't "do it for you" all the way (but you at least enjoyed it) I'd implore you to stick with it. Each book gets significantly better.

For me, I bought The Pariah towards the end of last year! It does sound interesting, but want to make some progress on the Stormlight Archives, Green Bone Saga & Dark Star Trilogy before starting another fantasy series!

For sci-fi the Murderbot Diaries are great and short so a good place to start.

There's definitely a trend towards shorter and shorter series duologies, etc) over sprawling epic series these days. I would say temper your expectations on Justice of Kings because "epic high fantasy" it is not. It is more like low fantasy historical feeling murder mystery. The Art of Prophecy feels like a more fantastical old school kung fu movie. It is a lot of fun, sci fi...not really at all. I still need to get to Dandelion Dynasty too...I own the first book hahaha. YAAAAS Legends of the First Empire is so good, I think you might really like it. You do not need to have finished Riyria because it is set 3, 000 years before Riyria. And then if you like dabbling in the self pub/indie space and like classic fantasy adventure with modern trends of better characters then I would say you should check out Blood of the Spear by Mark Timmony.

I just recently finished Age of Myth and really loved it! Beginning was slow but I’m itching to start the second book now. It gives very wholesome, classic fantasy vibes in my opinion lol

I’m hoping to start The Justice of Kings and The Expanse.

I loved The Grace Of Kings atfirst and thrni fizzled out and traded in my first two physical books. I think it was because I was having fantasy burnout at the time too. I might start them again and possibly repurchase them. I love the US covers for once as well 😏

Hello. I also have Justice of Kings on my radar. Recently I finished purchasing all six books in The Age of Myth series. It was also recommended by another book-tuber who raved about it so I hope I am not too ambitious in the end. They are all patiently waiting on my TBR shelf. 3:23
