No need to install go to regedit go to Hkey_local_machine goto software goto policies then goto Microsoft windows defender disable anti spy set value to 0

it doesnt work on my end. if i install free anti-virus software, will my windows defender goes back to normal? if not, what will i do? prefer using defender rather than free anti-vi :( please help

I'm only leaving this in case somebody feels like the only one in the comment section for whom nothing seems to work. I followed every video on YouTube for this problem last night and nothing helped. But I updated my Windows and it worked. You should try that if nothing else is helping.
