Funfact, even if they are portrayed as the evil ones, the vampires have every right to do what they do.
They always hid underground even if they could enslave humanity easily. Then humanity got greedy and committed a cardinal sin, unleashing a divine poison, killing every ordinary human that isn't a little child anymore.
The vampires collected the remaining children to make sure they don't starve. They don't even kill them, only take enough blood to survive.
