Barnard
Columbia College

Columbia GS

I think it depends on how you define 'part of'. Barnard is an affiliated college of Columbia University, but it is not equivalent to Columbia. Barnard has independence on its own finance, admission and curriculum.

Barnard isn't a part of Columbia. It's an affiliate. The fact that the Columbia registrar can't verify Barnard transcripts (which is what grad schools and employers use for verification) is indicative that it's more of a licensing agreement. The issue here is that Barnard has never released their contract with Columbia, which they should if they want to be transparent. Barnard is a great school, has its own campus, policies, admissions, fin aid, and even emails. But it's not Columbia.

Barnard should mind their own business and stay away from Columbia. Barnard is not Columbia and it’s harder to get into Columbia. They should not let Barnard students share Columbia campus . Columbia is IVY league and Barnard is not. Stop going thru the backdoor…
