Finally, Some one actually shows just how much they stick out! I’ve never worn pads before or skates outside of a rink (eons ago) so I’m sure this would be a lot all at once. But like you said, I’m also not trying to end up with jacked up knees. Thank you!

When I first bought my pads, I bought their Fly Knee Pad and I wish I would've just gone straight for the pros. The fly pads were fine from a protection perspective, not AS overwhelmingly protective but I felt like they did the job more or less, but having to take off my shoes and pull them up over my jeans was just such a pain in the ass that I found myself just leaving them off and then not pushing myself as hard when skating. The convenience of being able to strap them on AND have the maximum protection make these a no brainer is retrospect.

My size is Large but my skate shop told me to go with XLarge so they dont dig into your leg So I went with the Large/XLarge set knees elbows and wrists And at first they felt awkward but I wore them around the house for a day and they broke in just fine. Now I cant skate without them. Just learning again after a 34 year break 🤙

Sick montage dude. I only heard good things about those pads. I live in Europe so they're harder to come by. TSG pro are the easiest ones to get here. They look almost identical and are about the same price. Great review!

Great video and thanks for making it... I was originally more concerned about price but you made such great points you’ve sold me on these 187s... cheaper usually ends up being false economy while having an inferior product the whole time... like you say, it’s really an investment and good safety gear is ultimately about self respect. Cheers!..

My left 187 derby pad got completely destroyed after sliding down a resin quarterpipe, its plastic part got ripped off from the pad itself because of weak pins. They were 1 year old and i hoped that they could withstand more abuse.

Got mine and love them, but sizing is throwing me. I measure 15 so got the medium, but when I’m standing in them I wouldn’t say they feel “snug” around my knee cap so worried that they’ll slide down when I slide. I can crank down straps but assumed they hug my knees. You went with large? When you stand up straight legged in them, is there a pocket around your knee where the pad isn’t touching? I’ve never worn small anything but $100 is a lot to drop if they don’t work!

i just tried on the 888 knee pads yesterday. I didn't like how they felt on my legs. My shorts arn't long so the knee pads were on bare skin. the pad's velcro strap seemed to pinch my leg. not in a painful way, but more of discomfort. I was constantly trying to adjust. Do these 187's do the same thing? I see they have a velcro strap like the 888's, so I imagine it's gonna have the same end result. any experience with this issue?

I bought some regular non pro 187 pads.. they group L and XL together, and I have strong manly quads and calves similar to yours.. the L/XL fits me tight. What size pros are those? You look like you have strong meaty legs so just curious.

If you did not try Pro Designed pads (long gone now), you missed the sweet taste of skateboard, knee, elbow, and wrist pads. They were top-notch!

Hi what about Protec PRO KNEE PADS with D30 foam can you make comprasion for bulkyness please Protec PRO d3o VS 187 PRO VS 187 slim kneepads . I have 187 slim knees and 187 pro series way too bulky for tech stuff. I wanna know which level of protection d3o inserts has inside them in moto they use level 1 and level 2 inserts

What were the specific brands and models of pads that you tried before these? I just got some Pro-Tec Street pads, but, mistakenly ordered too small of a size. But, they seem kind of crappy in general. I have some Rector Protector knee pads from the 80s and I like those better than the Pro-Tecs. I was thinking of getting some Rector Fatboys. I don't know why, but, skate shops don't seem to carry Rector anymore. I'm assuming those aren't as good as the 187s for full blown vert. I'll probably be skating small transition like what you were on. Some wooden ramps at one park and a bowl kind of like the one you were on at another. It seems like the 187s might be overkill. Then again, the Pro-Tec Streets seemed like they would just slide out of place and wouldn't give adequate protection.
