We just underestimate ancient humans...
Just like we constantly think animals, insects, fish and greenery are unaware of everything.

Ancient dude: Man, I'm tired of all this hunting and all the gathering. I'm not doing it anymore!

Maybe the work on Gobekli Tepe lasted for decades! We are nowadays USED to the fact that there are deadlines and we have a totally different perception of time

Karahan tepI is older by a long while than Gobekli Tepi

“Hunter gatherers” are ridiculously underestimated

A hypothesis that needs evidence. A more reasonable, alternative hypothesis is that hunter-gatherers, in the right areas, were capable of much more than we previously believed.

That region 11, 000 years ago was very lush with plenty of good for hunter gatherers.
It would've left enough time for the people to engage in crafting stuff.

How much I respect Graham Hancock.!! cause it needs real understanding and imagination to break free and imagine the truth from scattered clues.

Amazing what a person can do when they are bored.

I think many groups were farming
and raising animals 30, 000 years ago
and other groups were hunter gathers

Cain was a farmer and so were his descendants who did agriculture.

They DIDN'T "wake up one morning" they DIDN'T "just dreamed up overnight" ... There's clear archeology around the area to show the evolution of building techniques LEADING UP to what they build at Gobekli Tepe. 🤦🏼‍♂️

Every now and then a child is born and is brilliant beyond measure and they and others like them build their world.

Hunting and gathering is still a thing in advanced civilizations.

These were not hunter gatherers....These were the beings written about in ancient tablets and the Bible....The fallen angels who taught mankind many things...

It seems obvious to me that the focus on building required them to develop agriculture, it’s cause and effect. “Let’s make a safe space with walls protecting us from the dangers outside, wait a minute, let’s move those plants we like inside the perimeter and make our lives easier…”

I wish people would actually think about this critically rather than accepting established dogmas from people who do not care to think outside of what is accepted.

They Were hunter gatherers, and at the SAME TIME as these structures are being built, they start to become agriculturalist. How could they have done BOTH AT THE SAME TIME?

That’s the million dollar question. There’s a lag time between transitioning from H/G to farming, then another lag from then to time you shift your economy mainly to farming, another to see the fruits of those labors, then ANOTHER lag time between seeing those fruits and being able to diversify your economy, then ANOTHER lag time from there to when your diverse economy is able to build megastructures WHILE maintaining its food supply and general security.

All of this takes Several generations and a lot of trial and error for a society that has never moved past the H/G stage of development. For them to have gone through all of this simultaneously would suggest that they were taught these things by someone who already knew it. Thus, his hypothesis about a transfer of technology.

I hate how people call Graham crazy for thinking this way. No archeologist has Gobekli Tepe figured out. Nor do they have the Pyramids figured out, they only have theories.

They were knowing agriculture for sure that time . Impossible to only remain alive as hunters in such a big crowd . They must have produced, cultivated .

Expert architecture is only built by expert architects. Therefore, it logically follows that Gobekli Tepe was an advanced, civilized settlement with division of labor and hierarchy.
