By watching this video you will learn how to harvest a sugar apple.

Welcome to my channel, Our Tropical Soil, where you can learn about growing food in the tropics! The sugar apple has many names. In English it is also called "sweetsop" and in Spanish it is called "anón". A ripe sugar apple is creamy and very sweet.

Very informative video, I learned some stuff: the importance of clipping the fruits, and how to tell when sugar apples are ready to harvest. I watched this video with a friend, and she said about you, "Wow, she's really good at explaining things."

Fresh sugar apples (custard apple), sapote (sapodilla), star apple, longans, rambutans, cempadeks, jackfruits, pomelos and mangosteens were my favorites back when we used to live in Asia. Now we live in the Midwest and we are lucky to find frozen ones at Asian stores.

Another question. What month(s) are sugar apples ripe in South Florida? Obviously now in August, since you're making this video now. Is this one of those tropical fruits that has one season of ripening, and doesn't ripen any fruits out of that season? Or does it have multiple crops, or a peak season, with a few fruits ripening at various times outside of that season?
