I usually go after the loose produce. I've learned the hard way not to grab the already bagged only to get home to find half of it unusable.

If I have the money I'd rather pay a little bit more for a English cucumber then just the regular cucumbers big difference in taste and quality to me.

You compared an organic cucumber to what I assume were conventionally grown cucumbers! That factor alone makes a huge difference on cost, worth specifying.

English cucumber are the best though👌🏼

In the end, vegetables are vegetables, organic or not organic. When you are STARVING, it wouldn't matter because you just want to eat. And I say this to people who just like to spend a little or a lot of money on products that practically taste the same but ships or comes from another part of the world. Local products are best and fresh-er. AND the other way to save on money is planting. One day (probably these times) people will have to opt for this method because of how expensive food is.

I catch this stuff all the time. Canned goods for example. A lot of times stores will have if you buy 10 each can will be $1 sales. But when you look at a 4 pack it's usually less than $1 per can. Just because it says sale doesn't mean it is one.

Seriously, people can't work that out for themselves. Heaven help them.

The regular cucumbers are inferior in flavor and sometimes texture. But I have found if I select the skinniest ones I can find, and peel and de-seed them they are pretty good and refreshing.

This is why I stopped buying produce in bags! Very rarely is it a better deal, but I always do the calculations first to double check. Great tip 👍🏽

I look at the bakery clearance items.Sometimes they mark them down to get rid of them. Lots of times they were made just the day before.

There's a huge difference between regular cucumbers and English cucumbers. That's like comparing Italian eggplant and Japanese eggplant.

Many stores in Canada now have a price per unit feature on the shelf price tag. Walmart, however, doesn't use consistent units. One tag might say '.59 per oz' while a similar product might say '.88 per 100 gms'. It makes it difficult to compare prices.

Hi there. I'm from south Africa and when I watch your videos I'm so shocked at how expensive things are in the US and generally other western countries. Here fresh produce is extremely cheap and organic isn't expensive at all. We do have Imported versions to but still its not as expensive.

I use dryed beans. I soak them and then cook them in my instant pot. Put them in freezer bags and use them as I need them.

Loose vegetables also ensures that you are buying something that hasn't gone rotten in the store which happens a lot with pre-packaged items especially if there's more then one item per package

Y e a h, except the tomatoes that were already bagged looked much better quality. I would have paid extra for the better quality tomatoes.
And the English cucumbers were organic & are wrapped, so there are fewer people handling them, and they are much better quality than the regular cucumbers.

I did that last week. I needed lettuce for a taco salad. I usually go for the convenience and buy pre shredded lettuce but I only had so much money this trip I saved almost two dollars buying a head of lettuce.

A REALLY good deal is with Imperfect Foods. It's a delivery subscription service where you choose the things you want and the things you receive would be rejected by stores for being imperfect but still entirely edible and nutritious. Plus you get FREE VEGGIES FOR LIFE!

Best to grow your own tomatoes as they blast them with ethanol to ripen them quicker.
Even of you live in a skyrise. Buy pots, soil & seedlings. Much healthier for you.

If you buy produce in a bag like apples count the number of apples in the bag . If the number is the same then weigh them & buy the heavier bag. You will get more for your money
