Thanks for sharing your thoughts. I am upgrading to a 16" model from an M1 MacBook Air. I used to use a 15" MacBook Pro, and after taking a break from that size and seeing the 16" in person I have to admit its huge and almost overwhelming! Hoping I get used to it in short order ^_^. These are beautiful machines though.

The notch is fine. You gotta see it as extra screen, the notch is not in the way, the screen is wrapped around it to push the menu bar up.

the brightness is still only 500 nits but it gets to a max of 1000 nits during HDR content and a peak of 1600 nits so no it's not really 500 but 1600 in a small area during some kind of contrast peak but regular use it's still 500

It’s about the same thickness as previous models. It just appears thicker because it’s more squared off.

People saying that the thickness is really thick but if you compare the 16inch with the Intel 16inch one (from last year) it’s only the screen that’s thicker and only by a few centimeters.

Pretty sure the dimensions are pretty close to the previous 16inch design. Just looks thicker cause they ditched the concave design. That being said the weight has probably gone up

I went with the base model in space grey as well since I’m just a consumer but I do feel that it is also a investment as well and am very happy with it and if I ever need more storage I don’t mind getting a external ssd great video
