This is the brief and introductory lesson of the Community Pillar, the informal pillar of the Philippine Criminal Justice System.

-The community has an unparalleled role as the fifth pillar in the Criminal Justice System. In this connection community is understood the mean as “elements that are mobilized and energized to help the authorities in effectively addressing the law and order concern of the citizenry

-The community is viewed to be an integral part of criminal justice in the Philippines and has been so recognized in that it is the fifth pillar of the criminal justice system (the others are the police, prosecution, courts, and corrections).
c. Are you agree in the inclusion of the community as a pillar of the CJS? Justify your answer.
- Yes because.The community is viewed to be an integral part of criminal justice in the Philippines Topics included community involvement in law enforcement, prosecution of crimes, the courts, rehabilitation and treatment of criminal offenders, and mobilizing the community for improved criminal justice administration.

Community is included as the pillar of the criminal justice system for the reason that the criminal justice system cannot function without the active participation of community members. Citizens are relied on by the police to report crimes and assist them in conducting investigations. Citizens are called upon as witnesses in the prosecution of the offender by the prosecutor and the judges.

b. What is the function of the community in the CJS?

Community plays a vital role in the criminal justice system for the reason that after undergoing the four (4) pillars, community is there to help the person in need after such process to be able to be back on his/her feet. Community is there to educate criminals on how things are going after how many years of not being able to cope up with the surrounding and happening outside the cell. After undergoing community, the person will be able to socialize and cope up again. Moreover, community molds and gives chances.

c. Are you agree in the inclusion of the community as a pillar of the CJS? Justify your answer.

As the inclusions are mentioned, I do agree that those are part of the pillar of the community. Each inclusion has its role to play in a persons life as well as in the community. It has its impacts towards the person on how he will be able to socialize and understand the social norms in the community.

I believe that the community is included as a pillar of the criminal justice system because after an individual serves his sentence in prison, and is successfully rehabilitated by the correction, he will be given a chance to go back to the stream of society for his further improvement and development.

I think the function of the community is to watch if the person who was convicted is successfully rehabilitated by the correction. Also, to deter a person from committing a crime. In addition, it helps law enforcement effectively implement law and order, which concerns the citizens.

c. Are you agree with the inclusion of the community as a pillar of the CJS? Justify your answer.

Yes, I do agree with the inclusion of the community as a pillar of the CJS because, with the community, we will be able to determine if the person who was convicted is successfully rehabilitated in the correction. Also, without the community, the other pillar will be made for nothing. In addition, the community is the one that constructs a person's personality or behavior which determines whether they will become law-abiding citizens or a juvenile.

Why is the community included as a pillar of the criminal justice system?
Because after rehabilitation for the correction, when the time is the person is ready to go and set free to the society and he must join into the community for his continuous improvement

Community; family, church, school. The function of them is to help another person to learn, to socialize and to teach a person moral values. Also control a person's chance to be involved in a criminal liability.

Yes, because I think this is the first and last pillar in the cycle in the criminal justice system. and community is the main foundation of a person not to involve in crime, like the social bond theory which seen that a person with a low chance of socializing with others is a big chance to commit crime, so that community is the way of socialization that will helped a person to have a relation between, family friends, school, church, sports, activities etc. and that will avoid to think about bad habit.

Community include in the pillar of CJS because community has a big role in society and they cooperate in any case what happen in their community if there crime happen in their community the police will investigate the crime and issue in their local the community will give opinion on the scene so they can help the police what truly happen there
