I was a fan of Def Leppard going back to "On thru the night". When I heard and then read (in the newspaper) that Rick was in an accident and lost his arm, I knew they weren't going to abandon him. Family...don't leave them! Tho they couldn't do anything for Steve after his passing (RIP Steve) got a good person in Vivian. This is one of the many reasons why this band is one of my top 2 favorites.

I remember this story well. He had been drinking and was driving too fast for the conditions. Roads were wet and icy when he lost control. I thought he was going to be replaced too but his bandmates saw something we didn't see. He had to stop drinking to recover and DAMN did he. His bandmates were there all the way with him including the engineer who designed his new kit.

Saw them in chapel Hill NC and Rick stayed out the entire time while his band mates took breaks. He played his drums the whole time. I am glad I was there to see this. It will always be a cherished memory for me!!!!
