Climbing Mount Damavand - Iran's highest mountain

A ski-mountaineering team from the UK set out to climb Iran's highest mountain, Mount Damavand (5610 m). The team is lead by Shirin Shabestari, an Iranian woman now resident in London. As the team ascend the mountain the film examines the pivotal role mountaineering played in Shirin's upbringing and discover just how much this summit means to her.

Today Shirin lives in London with her family, but she spent her childhood growing up in Iran. In an often restrictive country, she would explore the mountains to find her sense of freedom. This experience would come to shape her future as she dreamt of bigger adventures.

I'm planning to climb Damavand when I finally make it to Iran next year. This video was amazing and Shirin is such an incredible woman. Really beautiful ending. Got me in tears as I had this wish to climb with my dad, but he suffered from a stroke and several heart attacks and I won't be able to share this with him. I can feel the tears and the sadness.

I was invited to climb Damavand as well! It seems a difficult mountain to climb though, the highest mountain I ever climbed was about 3 km. I have been in Iran before and I loved it! Anyone has some advice for me?
