A pure software private 5G network is one in which all the necessary modules for the network are implemented as software and deployed on a containerization platform. The demo is based on Supermicro servers, known for their high performance and reliability, and using Ampere/Arm chipset. The servers are equipped with the necessary hardware to run the 5G network software modules, which are supplied by different vendors such as Effnet and Phluido for Control Unit (CU) and Data Unit (DU) modules respectively, Druid for Core module and Benetel for the Radio Unit (RU) module. This solution allows for a high level of flexibility and scalability for the 5G network, as well as easier upgrades and maintenance. Additionally, using a containerization platform like Red Hat OpenShift allows for the efficient deployment and management of the 5G software modules, making it easier to deploy and manage the network.
