Vote on Boris Johnson’s Brexit deal rejected by Speaker

After more than three years of parliamentary wrangling, this week could see the Brexit withdrawal bill go through the Commons in just three days - if the government gets its way.

The bill will be published later tonight and the debate will start tomorrow. Ministers want it all wrapped up by Thursday. The Opposition says it's far too important to be rushed through in that way.

It is now year 2193, the Prime Minister of UK visits Brussels for an extension to the Brexit deadline. No one remembers where this tradition originated, but every year it attracts many tourists from around the world.

Hmm does anyone remember that deregulation was a key factor in the banking crisis. No? That small point is just passing everyone by again yeah?

Why do people in the UK think Brexit is over when the WA passes? Just wait til negotiation for an FTA start. Spain wants to talk about Gibraltar, Cyprus about the Armybases, the Danes about the fish etc. this will go on for years.
And why are the Brits happy to sacrifice their service sector?
It all seems totally inept.

Citizens whining about Brexit. Let's remind ourselves who started this mess: James Cameron in a stunt to gain UKIP votes and a short-sighted public that went along. Politicians that lied and a public that was too shortsighted to think about just how complex it would be for a rather strained political construct like the UK trying to leave another union, the EU, whilst reigniting old rivalries that led to the Troubles in the latter half of the 20th century.

Predicting the future is a rather ominous business; however, the events of the last three years were predictable given the history of the UK itself and the evolving relationship of its constituent parts with the EU.

There is zero reason to rush the Brexit bill through the Commons in three days other than to avoid some embarrassing headlines for the prime minister.

Parliament’s primary job is to scrutinise legislation. It’s not to save Boris Johnson from embarrassing himself.

I do an economic analysis every time I go to Asda, yet the Tories can't even do one before deciding the future of the country.

Bercow just followed the rules ... The very same rules parliament have abided by for centuries.
Well done Burcow 👍

Any Labour MP backing Boris' No Deal in disguise should be expelled but Jeremy is too gutless to kick them out.

Anyone know why we're doing Brexit other than we voted for it? Hardly hearing of any benefits anymore.

Idiotic questions. It is about UK becoming a sovereign state again or not! And it should be no big problem to organize trade and the rest of it between constructive partner countries.

There is no point backing a deal when the best deal on offer is to remain in the EU, the EU is not going to give the uk a better deal than being in the EU otherwise every country in it will leave, so either leave with no deal or have a 2nd vote to remain or leave with no deal

“There’s no objective truth out there”. Right, because if you measure 3% contraction or a 6% drop in the Pound that’s not a fact, that’s just fairy dust 🤦‍♀️

How can MPs vote on something that hasn't been scrutinised? That's just crazy. Plus the known issues like workers rights need to be amended. This was never a part of Brexit and makes a mockery of "Knowing what we voted for."

A second referendum would solve a lot, many people previous leavers now want to remain. I bet the outcome would be remain.
