Vika i think you are afraid to go out there and do things on your own . Don't be scared people will be curious about you because you are rather unique for that area but Russians are not racists like Americans are . If people in Russia will ask you questions or want to talk to you it is because they are curious in a good way. Just tell them that you are an American and speak some Russian and lots of people will be very friendly with you and will help you if you need something. You will feel better

За мобилку же проще можно платить. Установить приложение вашего сотового оператора, и там виден и остаток на мобильном счёте, и активный тариф, и все параметры. И там же можно выбрать "Оплатить". И в качестве средсва платежа выбрать ваш Apple Pay (это не точно, у меня Android 😀. Но полагаю, что должно быть так)

There is a family account in Alfa Bank. It's quite convenient. Me and my wife are just putting all the income into that account and then transfer to personal accounts by demand. Much easier to control expenses

Vika, anyone can put money onto any phone number. They don't have to know it's you. It's up to you to get the number right.
Sometimes when I didn't have cash after taking a cab and my card wasn't connected I'd ask the driver if I can transfer them money via my bank app. They didn't want it in their bank account so they'd tell me to put the money onto their phone account directly and then just tell me their number as I type it in.

I'm not sure if you all go to church but I heard that the good news church with pastor renner is Russia is highly recommended....random I know. I meant to say they have English and Russian services combined. The pastors are also bilingual. I hope that you both are well! You can pay for your phone even if you haven't internet, by your phone internet! I know it works for the MTS using their app
