I believe Sony needs to focus a little bit more to apsc cameras. I enjoy my ff Sony a7iii but i would love to see some elevated version of a6600. Also i totally agree that the needs of 2023 photographer gravitates towards lightweight ff primes than they can be a jack of all trades between ff and apsc bodies. Great video as always!

It’s very specialized, but I still think there is a place for a high quality shift lens. I used an adapted Canon TS-E 17mm for years as my main architectural lens. Now I use the FE12-24 f2.8 GM, cropping and stretching it in post, when I need to. I think Sony could make a shift lens, that would optically improved over the aging Canon lenses, much smaller on Sony bodies and use all of the sensor (not relying on cropping or stretching pixels in post).

Two lenses that really should happen:

28mm f1.8 or 1.4.
100/105mm f1.4 or 1.8.

The 28mm would be very popular here in the UK for us wedding photographers. Yes we have the F2 28 but it’s pants and not good enough for paid work. The sigma 28 is the old lens design and far to big.

I’m quite surprised that Sony has not filled the gap between the 85 GM and the 135 GM for a fast prime. I own the 135 and often need far more room at weddings than I have to really use the 135 GM. A 1.4 or a 1.8 100/105 portrait lens again would make a killing for wedding photographers.

Come on Mark - have a work with Sony 👌

I personally wish Sony would have 35mm F1.8 G level, and 85 GM ii

What Sony is missing is a current photocentric apsc camera, not lenses, unless we are talking lenses normies can purchase.

My dream FF 100-300mm F4 or new 100-400mm GM Il. 😊😅

i would love to see a 18mm f1.4gm for nightscapes, and a new and optically better super light 70-300 f5.6 g II to complement the new 20-70 f4 g. also a super compact 500mm f5.6 gm with built in 1.4x converter would be a great addition.😊

I'd like to see a 400mm f/4. Traveling for wildlife photography is tough with the size and weight of the current super telephotos. On the 300mm/ f/2.8 that is coming, I sure hope it works with existing teleconverters.

what is missing in today's sony series is an APSC camera with a shape that allows a satisfying and fast user experience and a decent ISO seal. Users have been waiting for it since before the alfa6600 came out.
We hope to see you soon among us. Thank you very much for the content of the channel.

I personally would like to see an update to the Sony 85 mm F1.8 lens. I would like to see an F1.8 in a G series similar to the 20mm G form factor.

I’ve added the Sigma iSeries DG DN f/2 and f/2.8 lenses to compliment my GM lens kit since Sony’s f/2.5 G lenses is not a complete offering. Like your proposals as well. Thank you for the video.

I sold my sony 85mm gmaster because it was heavy, loud, and very slow to focus. missed a lot of shots because it could not find a focus. I have been waiting for 85mm Mark 2 for 2 years. I also want a M2 100-400mm GM lens to work with the teleconverters. I want the lighter lens and faster focus.

We definitely need to see some better high quality tele zooms like a 150-500 f4 or something like this.
Also the teleconverters are not really good. The 16-35mm needs an update since a long time too.🙂

I shoot on APS-C and I sort of wish Sony would go out and do a 400-600mm for APS-C. The 70-350mm APS-C lens is incredible fun and I just want more of that form factor but with bigger zoom.

You only cover short lenses in this video, but I think where Sony needs to do some serious work is in their longer lens lineup. They need to take a page from Nikon's book, and offer lenses such as the 300mm PF, 500mm PF, and 800mm PF, as well as lenses with a built-in teleconverter.

I have read several comments on the Tamron lineup of lenses, which I fully agree with. I used to rely on the Sony 24-105 f4 as my go to lens. The Tamron 28-200 gives better aperture at the wider end and acceptable aperture at the long end. It is not stabilized. Image quality is excellent. I matched it up with the new 16-35 f4 for a light weight package for travel. Sony is a major owner of Tamron, making it almost a second brand for Sony. For light weight versatility, it’s Tamron right now.

The Tamron FE mount 17 to 28mm f2.8 is superb and light weight and focuses on the money

Hi mark, I enjoy your videos. I am waiting for the FE 300 F2.8 (I sold my Canon 300 F2.8 II). Now Canons new RF 100-300 F2.8 certainly sets a benchmark for Sony to match. Perhaps a 300 F2.8 with a built-in 1.4 tele would suffice.

The main GAP is not having firmware updates for our cameras!!! - Sony A74 has better features than the A1. Maybe you can ask Sony why?

300mm f2.8 GM with internal TC, or a 100-300mm f2.8 GM. 85mm f1.2 GM, for my A1, A7RIV, A7SIII. Cheers
