A discussion with Professor Ezra F. Vogel (Harvard University) about China-Japan relations based on his 2019 book, China and Japan: Facing History (Harvard UP). Prof. Vogel’s opening remarks will be followed by a Q&A/discussion with webinar participants moderated by 21JPSI Director Adam P. Liff (Hamilton Lugar School of Global & International Studies, Indiana University).
Professor Ezra F. Vogel is the Henry Ford II Professor of the Social Sciences Emeritus at Harvard and former National Intelligence Officer for East Asia at the U.S. National Intelligence Council (1993-1995). He is one of the world’s leading experts on both China and Japan, and has previously served as the director of both Harvard’s Program on U.S.-Japan Relations and its Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies.
This event is part of the “Japan Politics & Society” speaker series organized by the Hamilton Lugar School’s 21st Century Japan Politics & Society Initiative. This event is made possible by the generous support of the Japan Foundation’s Center for Global Partnership.
