I was born in 1969, and unfortunately for me, this track has stood the test of time a lot better than I have!!!

Love how all the other major US cities were into all of that hippie shit & Detroit was all about hard rock N’ roll.

I love the Stooges, this album is still some of the best music...bar none. I saw them at the Michigan palace back in the day...he danced on broken glass and threw himself into the crowd...way ahead of his time. We saw some of the greatest bands at the Palace, eastowne and the Grande ballroom....DETROIT

Like the Velvet Underground, the Stooges didn't sell a lot of albums.

The few people who did buy their albums, however, all started a band.

I first heard this in 1970. Ever since then, my friend and I have sung this song. "Last year I was 21-31-41-51-61". Unfortunately he didn't make it. Don't know if I'll make 71. We'll see. Signed, Detroit

I can see why the Stooges are the godfathers of punk in this song.

After listening to “Take Five” by Dave Brubeck and “Tribal Gatherings” by the Byrds I can hear Ron’s influence. Love it!

Well it's 1969 okay
All across the USA
It's another year
For me and you
Another year
With nothing to do

Last year I was 21
I didn't have a lot of fun
And now I'm gonna be 22
I say oh my and a boo hoo
And now I'm gonna be 22
I say oh my and a boo hoo

It's 1969 okay
All across the USA
It's another year
For me and you
Another year
With nothing to do
Another year
With nothing to do
It's 1969

Iggy Pop was THE sexiest man in music ever and the Stooges made some of the best music ever. Thank you Curtis for turning me on to this band.

3:43, I always laugh to myself a bit when Iggy's voice dies while holding out the word "baby"...
