If he’s gonna go just go. I’m not about this let’s flirt with the nfl crap. Harbaugh drove me nuts with that $hit

Will be a loss for Michigan. Wink was great: OSU and Alabama defensive performances were masterpieces.

Thank you for the great episode that helped take my mind off the Palisades fire near my home in Calabasas that I had evacuated from last week. Planning on heading home tomorrow. House is still fine as we were on the edge of mandatory evacuation but left because of loss of power. What a time to be in the movie business in LA. Covid, strikes now fires. Worst couple years of my 27 year career. Makes me want to move back to Michigan. Soon

I was honored to see the late Bo Schembechler coach against my Alma Mater, Notre Dame, in 1988. Coach Bo would have been proud of the stunning defeat of Ohio State this past fall. It was true corroboration of the old saying "On rivalary day, throw the records out." Michigan really knew how to humble the Buckeyes that day. As for ND, 1988 was the last year they won the championship. I rushed the field with the students that January 2, 1989. I hope the modern young ND students will be able to experience that. I am cautiously optimistic at best since I know OSU has more talent. But ND has a "puncher's chance".

Wink may stay, responding before I watch. Only 3 NFL DC's get paid more than he does now.

I think if he leaves it is not the end of the world. Better he stays but two Ravens defense schemer options circulating are good possibilities. The USC/UCLA guy is good and might be a better fit for him at Michigan over Riley. Also Mallory is a Michigan guy.

I remember after the 2021 season, Mike MacDonald left M (after one year) to return to the Baltimore Ravens, only as the DC this time. Things seemed a bit grim for the Wolverines. And then came Jesse Minter. And when he left with Harbaugh and company to go to the Chargers, things felt even more grim. And then came Martindale. So, I have to believe that, if Martindale decides to leave for an NFL job, M will be ok. They certainly have the resources and the money to find the very best. Hopefully, Martindale decides to stay. But if he doesn't, then I am confident that M will be just fine (I hope).

I would like to believe that money makes Wink stay but dealing with Recruiting and NIL has got to be a pain in the @$$.

If he does stay, UM has to make sure he is training his replacement.

Coaches should use this
On the recruiting trail. How the NFL keep coming after our coaches every single year

If it was just money the decision would be fairly quick. Some coaches don’t want to be recruiters and start with new players over and over. Free agency (transfer portal) every year. Some don’t mind that but Wink has been used to things being pretty much steady compared to college turnover so it will all be determined of how busy he wants to be for the money.

Wink never wanted to come to college. He took every NFL interview before he showed up got to Michigan. If he gets a job offer I’d imagine he’d take it.

Can we set up a fund to keep wink around like we did for Bryce? Let’s get his salary up to like 3.5-4.5 mil a year

I could see him taking the Bengals job. That defense was a trainwreck.
