I Solved the Classic Fresh Server Issue

So basically, ladder servers. Each season there's a new ladder, then when the ladder is over your characters get moved to the non-ladder server.

This concept has existed for years. Diablo 2 ladder. The only difference here is it's a "transfer when the realm pop dies" concept. That's called the end of a ladder season. Force the "new" server close when it reaches end of life and transfer everyone to the non-ladder server. I've been saying this forever

If Blizzard did this, and actually made it known beforehand - I might actually play on the fresh server to level another character. Otherwise I will continue to play on DP

See I think another issue we are currently facing is there are 30 "low pop" classic era servers currently in the game. Which I feel like could be condensed... Sometimes you can search the AH for 3-4 days straight and not be able to find any items you want/need.

Fresh HC makes 0 sense no matter how you spin it. It's a glorified leveling server it doesn't need to be "fresh".

Duude noone wants Hardcore fresh does not make any sense, only for the streamers, ffs just pick a server and play and stop crying.

Tbc fresh and tbc hardcore. Dont need. Hardcore fresh server wht are the small comunity . The hardcore server need merge.

Blizzard just needs to hire an economist for a year and develop methodologies to solve the issue.

The problem There are a lot of OG's on these older servers, both defiance pillager and skull rock. Meaning day one players. We watched the massive wave of bots that came with the original HC hype, and we have watched the bots die down. Used to be bots leveling characters and selling them and then you are in a dungeon with somebody who does not know what they are doing with their freshly bought warrior, and everybody die.

We don't want to be grouping with a bunch of level 60's that just transferred over and nobody knows who they are or how they play or anything. Everybody tends to know everybody in these humble HC servers. On skull rock it's about 200-300 on horde side players when it is real dry and slow, and 1k+ when it's active. Just on the horde side. Alliance seems to be just as booming. At raid time there could be about 100-120 raiders in all the raids on horde side alone. It would be rough to just pour 60-100+ unknown raiders into a scene like that.

Our servers aren't dead. We hate our lives, but we are happy here. It's a somewhat brilliant plan, but all the OG's that are still playing today are already assuming we know which server you will pick. Server transfer would have to require minimum of naked and no bank. You only keep your level, no items no money. That's how everquest did it. Okay i could talk all day. <3

This entire video is just pure cope. Classic servers are dead because nobody wants to play on them. This isn't some whacky technical issue. Classic isn't as popular as people that play Classic think.

Most of the player base on WoW is in Retail and the rest are a bunch of Chinese players playing through WOTLK Classic because they never got to experience it during the OG launch of that expansion. The community, as a whole, with the exception of those Chinese players, have decided that Classic just isn't that fun
