Women and men from neighboring counties, supporting the Black woman's movement gathered at the Tappan Zee Shopping Center in Tarrytown today.

Organizer, Vanessa Green and her team planned to march over the new Governor Cuomo Bridge (Tappan Zee) to make a statement for peace and justice for the "Black Lives Matter" movement. "In the name of Harriet Tubman, we march for love, care and concern for our people," said Ms. Green.

When asked why her group chose the Governor Cuomo Bridge, she explained, "The Tarrytown bridge was a good starting point to create visibility for our cause and for the first of many marches to come."

The assembly proceeded to walk up White Plains Road (Rt. 119). Though when they arrived at the on-ramp, they were immediately stopped by New York State Troopers, County and local police. Law enforcement created a physical barricade across the road, blocking access to the ramp.

When they regrouped, they proceeded to mobilize in cars creating a caravan. The early afternoon procession of vehicles slowed bridge traffic on for several hours.
