Number two is the hop forward on the front leg
Number three is the open stance for the higher balls

This is one of the best videos I've seen on short balls. In general I find this shot (as well as any other groundstroke) is best hit when the ball is above the net, its just an easier shot in general. Ideally you can explode to the ball and take it when it is still high. But I like how you present options on if the ball drops or stays low vs. a high sitter. Very well organized!

this is by far one of the best videos on how to handle short balls i have EVER seen. hope you also talked about making sure to turn your shoulders and stay balanced thru the shot as well

Great illustration, guys!

I'd love to see a similar video for the BACKHAND side (especially for a player that uses a 2-handed backhand).Short balls happen even more often on the backhand side as a result of a weak cross-court backhand from my opponent.

thanks for putting up these wonderful tennis lessons boys. Tennis is a great sport, perhaps the best for conditioning the body..especially for the elderly like myself ( 66 years young)

Really, really good video. I have watched a lot of tennis videos, and this is one of the most accessible, understandable, and important ones I've seen.

very interesting and informative video. Thanks for sharing it. I keep hitting the ball out when I attack such short balls and I think its because I check and shot and not go with the full follow through. This video clearly illustrates how the forehand elbow cross the chin for each shot. Great Tip!!

Gents - great video (again). Could you do a video on the short ball that's landing to the backhand side, and how you deal with that? That would be most informative.

thanks guys you are like my gurus . i cant thank you enough . i have attended so many courses but you are really the best . your pedagogy and fundamentals are best and they help me improve my game on a daily basis . sometimes i wonder that had i got you as a coach when i started tennis a couple of years back i would not have wasted 30 grands on shit training. i hope that everyone understands your lessons and everyone subscribes to your channel so they dont have to waste time like i did .

Thank you for this video, I usually struggle with the timing so I always hit the net when I do approach shots.

Great video. The last of the 3 shots is by far and away the hardest. . .

Love your videos. Can you do one on proper ways to hold a racquet to avoid wrist pain, proper grip with the thumb and index finger, proper exercises to strengthen wrists, shoulders and cherry on top: shadow tennis at home!
