Wave Basics

Waves transfer energy without transporting matter. Waves are formed from vibrations and many travels through a medium. Light and radio waves do not need a medium.
Mechanical waves need a medium to pass through and I focus on two types, transverse waves, and longitudinal waves which are also called compressional waves.

I like how the material is presented at a level appropriate for middle school or early high school. However, this video has one glaring error. In mechanical waves, the particles to not move significantly away from the point of origin; they vibrate perpendicular to the resting position in transverse waves and parallel to the resting position in longitudinal waves. The energy of the wave is what propagates away from the point of origin. Please consider correcting this.
