How to Charge Oculus Quest 2 Headset - Charging Oculus Quest 2 with Dead Battery

Charging the Oculus Quest 2 headset is very simple to do but I've been made aware that some new owners are needing a little help. So in this short video, I'll show you how to charge the Oculus Quest 2 headset. In the package grab the white accessories box. You'll find everything you need in there including the AC wall adapter and a USB-C cable.

The USB-C cable is the same on both ends so there's no guessing which end to use. You'll plug this cable into the left side of the headset and the wall adapter. This is really quite simple to do and should be the same process as any mobile device you own. I'm not sure why some people are questioning how to charge the headset. Maybe it's because some haven't seen a USB-C cable before or they just can't locate the charging port?

But once it's plugged in the charging light comes on and will turn green when the Oculus Quest 2 headset is fully charged. It's super simple to do. However if you're watching this because your headset isn't charging, I have a separate video on my channel that explains what you can do if you're having charging problems.

I want to be able to get you up and running on your Oculus so you can spend more time playing rather than troubleshooting technical problems. People question where to plug in their usb-c cable because the Oculus Quest 2 has a white wrapper that fits snuggly over the device and doesn't have a hole where the cable goes.

Thank you. This is a Christmas present for my son. To avoid the infamous, " Is it ready, yet?" question every 5 minutes, I wanted to fully charge the Meta Quest without disrupting the original packaging. I didn't want to take away the unboxing experience. So, I took a knife and only cut 3 edges of the shrink wrap and slid the brown box out leaving the sleeve fully intact within the shrink wrap. Thanks to your video, I was able to locate the charging port, charge it, wind up the wires, and shimmy it back into the sleeve/ shrink wrap and tape of the edges. It looks like it's never been unopened.

Grateful for the video and the comments below pointing out the paper wrapper. Felt the wrapper when putting it on, but setting it up took so long (couldn't get the headset to pair because location data was turned off on the phone) that I forgot it was there. Watched your video and felt like a complete idiot staring at the left side and not seeing the port. Even wondered if I got an old unit by mistake since I didn't see the audio jack I knew was supposed to be there as well. Been setting stuff up since the days of Atari 2600, TRS-80, and Tandy 1000. I'd have liked to have thought I didn't need a video (or the comments) for something this simple by now, but here we are. And I did this sober😂🤣 Thanks again, dude.

People ask how to charge it because when you buy this the headset is covered with white paper which is the same color what the headset is. I couldnt find the opening for connectying the charger. Now I found it when you said is on the left side. Its invisible when you buy this product. Thanjk you for explaining it in the short video. nice and clear. Thank youi

The problem with charging is that the quest 2 doesn't always charge idle when connected with the PC. Charging it from an outlet solves that problem.

Remember to remove the vinyl/paper packaging which encircles the headset (it hides the charging port). This is why we had a problem charging it😅

The headset has a protective cover that hides the Charging port.

"And at this point I'm sure you'll never question how to charge your headset again" (drops phone 😭😭😭) I was being too lazy to go through the box figured i could watch a quick 20 sec video to even know if a charger was provided vs going through everything in the box. Problem is there is no info in manual about what LED color represents what state of charging. Now I know that red is charging and green is charged. That is all I needed to know.
